Breakfast with Santa-Let's make it a Holiday Tradition, shall we?!

First of all, I was shocked by this!  I did not think Grey would even look at Santa let alone literally jump in his arms and let me take at least a dozen photos.

But he did and it was super sweet.

We had such a nice morning with Santa.

Grammy Ann joined us

and so did Livy

All that kept going through my head was 'this is what it's all about'

My decorations are not complete and I have NOT even started my shopping, but it doesn't matter because the little faces I see light up every night when we turn on the Christmas lights and the thought of Santa coming makes Grey squeal like crazy.

These special people in my life make me see the 'real deal' a little better each day...I love this time of year...

Grey enjoyed his breakfast

Sailor was busy making faces and baby drool

and Livy went back for seconds with the sausage...

all the while Santa and Mrs. Claus were not that far away

I want to give my children LOTS and LOTS of childhood memories...ya know the ones that they lock away in a special place and always remember...

I want them to know the TRUE meaning of this blessed holiday...and although 'Woody' helps a bit and St. Nick always drops by at the beginning of December...Nate and I are going to do our best so that our kids know what it's really about...

The magic and wonder of Christmas traditions is what it's all about and the 'believing' is what makes it all happen...BELIEVE

I value these times so much and that is what I want for my children so I will continue every year with tradition so that it is instilled in them and that their memory is FULL of great traditions and the wonder of Christmas all rolled into one.

See, Grammy Ann still believes...and she enjoyed Santa and MRs. Claus just as much as the littles did.

My kids happiness is what matters most to me and making memories with them...

(Christmas 2011)

and right before it was time to leave both Grey and Livy picked an ornament from Santa's special Christmas tree

Both of them picked little jingle bell ornaments...Nothing big, just a sweet, little, perfect gesture from Santa to hang on their Christmas trees.

So here I am trying to fill our calendar with Christmas memories that my children will remember forever

After breakfast we took a little stroll...Grey looked so dapper...

As we were leaving we saw them setting up for the carriage rides...

I hope you are taking time as well to make memories and holiday traditions with your loved ones.  December goes by so fast, so enjoy this special time.

And speaking of traditions, after library today we are off to help grandma Joyce bake some Christmas cookies.  That's the best tradition yet...

Happy Wednesday!

  1. Luv these pics and I love your attitude about teaching your babes what Christmas is about. Craig and I were just talking about this and how so much of the meaning has been "removed". I love it Cuz! Keep the traditions going :) ps where was this? Grey and Sailor looked absolutely adorable (as of course you all did)

  2. Thanks D! It was downtown LaSalle. It's that 'newer' store on the corner before the canal there. I think it's called Lock 61 but I'm not even sure. It's really cool in there and they have some neat gifts for people - ya know a little different.
