My Birthday!

oh you know - just me and my 'happy birthday' glass (from my mama thank you very much)

But first a look into our day...

I told Nate all I wanted to do on my birthday was organize the garage together and I wanted him to take me on a date;)  We did both!  

Sailie and I relaxed for a bit while Nate and Grey cut the grass.  Don't mind Sailor's boy pajamas...that's what happens when you move - ;)

 It's funny because sister can see out of Grey's bedroom window because it's low enough for her.  She thinks she's big stuff...she could see da da and Greyson doing yard work and so she wanted out there too!

Here are some boxes for you...these are filled with ALL of Grey's books...I need to find a cool book shelf for his room...

This was Sailor's working attire for the day...

and Greyson was very prepared for his yard work...he put on his goggles and was all ready to do some major weed 'eating'

Then about midday my mom decided to throw a mini birthday party for me because she knew Nate and I were going out to dinner...

talk about yummmmm!

she brought me flowers, a cake, and some presents...my grandparents, aunt Kathy and Mary, and Deb and Dave joined in as well!

My mom also bought me my own special birthday glass...and yes I enjoyed a nice glass of wine before Nate and I went to dinner.

we went to Skoogs steak house - it was really good...

I had a wonderful birthday and weekend with my family.

7 years!

I didn't get to post about our anniversary on Monday. (because it's been super CRAZY around here and stress levels are just a bit high:)

But July 16th it was 7 years for Nate and I.  We didn't do anything for it because we celebrated Sailor's birthday over the weekend and obviously Nate had to work on Monday(our actual anniversary).  We have a date night scheduled for either Friday or Saturday night.  And that works just fine for me!!!

this was right about when Sailor's first birthday party was over...we were pretty much both sweaty messes and Nate might be full of frosting from his baby girl's 1st cake smash-haha!

Down-n-Out on the 4th of July

We've been a little under the weather here.  It started Sunday night with Grey telling me he didn't feel good.  So, I put him to bed early and MOnday morning he woke up with a high fever.  So, we just stayed home, pushed fluids, and gave Motrin.  Yesterday the fever finally broke but he had all of these blisters in his mouth.  I thought it was that hand, foot, and mouth virus but he only had them in his mouth.  So, at about 4:00pm yesterday I got a little worried and wanted to RULE out strep.  We headed to QUICK care and felt better when the dr. told me it was just fever blisters.  He also said there is def. a bug going around right now.  My poor little guy has a very sore mouth, but he is feeling much better today.

But, Sailor woke up today and felt warm to me so I took her temp and it was 101.  It was bound to happen.  As much as I tried to keep her away from Grey and so on - it's just hard to do.

However, last night Nate and I were able to sneak out for a bit.  My mom insisted on watching the kids so that we could get out of the house.  I was not going to go but I'm so glad we did.  I put Sailor down before we left and Greyson got to snuggle with Grammy Ann all night.

My good friend and cousin D was in town from Arizona so we were able to hang out which I was so happy about...

This was Monday while Grey was sick:(  It was so sweet - Sailor just kept putting her head on him...

and these were just from Sailor's birthday dinner at Olive Garden...I forgot I took these with my phone...

She really enjoyed her strawberry smoothie...

Dee Dee is taking Grey to the pool this afternoon so he's excited about that and Nate and I are just home with our little Sailor.  We are gonna try to go to Dee Dee's later depending on how Sailie is feeling.

The Scoop on our lot

Nate's parents sit on about 7 acres of wooded land.  With that being said, they are selling us 1 acre and we are going to build a house.  There has been a lot of paperwork because it is a little bit of a different situation.  Nate's parents are considered 'county' but we are trying to 'tie' into the city so that we don't have to have a septic tank and such.  It will just be easier.  However, it is taking a little longer than we had hoped for all of these 'things' to get approved.  Our house papers are now waiting to be approved by the zoning board...  We had to have our land surveyed and Nate drew out the acre (the shape and what we want it to look like and cut off points and such) that we wanted and Dave turned them in for us.  Nate attended the city meeting a few weeks ago where it was sent to the zoning board.  So, we are patiently waiting to hear back so that we can get things started.

We are currently looking at various house plans but are having a hard time narrowing it down.  We know we want a wide open floor plan with the master bedroom on the main level and the other bedrooms upstairs.  So, we have tons of magazines laying around here and Nate has been looking online a lot for house plans as well.  There are so many cool ideas, which make it even harder.

In the meantime, Nate has been busy cutting down trees and burning leaves on our 'property' (as Nate refers to it)  If you look to the right where my car is parked - that will be the beginning of our driveway.

 We all wear hats and hoods right now because I'm paranoid about ticks...they are so bad this year.

and this little guy LOVES going into the woods....we have explained to Grey that we are trying to clear the land a little bit because this is where our new house will be and he gets really excited

and if you look closely through the woods there and over the creek are Nate's parents.  Can you see that garage through the woods and there is a vehicle parked there?  There are about 2 acres that will sit between us + all the woods.  I told Deb the only time she will be able to see our house is in the WINTER -haha!  we joke about it;)

 This is the road to our house.  I took a picture of it because I LOVE IT!  It's one of my favorite things about our house.  The drive up to it.  It's so pretty.  It's a big, wide, long road that dips in the middle and then when you get to the top - it will be us!

So that's what we know as of now... 

and in other news...sister is sporting some Cons now too;)

 

Easter 2012

It's no secret that we love holidays around here.  It's the family time, the good company, the many conversations, the kids playing/laughing/crying/whining, and all the other good stuff. 

Well, Easter weekend did not disappoint.  We had our families home and we shared the weekend together and did holiday stuff of course.  We colored Easter eggs, went on some egg hunts, made it through a LONG Easter Sunday mass, had a few cookouts, played at the park, and just enjoyed eachother.

My brother and his family came into town on Thursday night.  Grey was happy to see his cousin Jayne!  Every morning when we would get to my mom's house, we would find Jayne in a new princess 'get-up'.....it's safe to say that the girl is into princesses these days...;)

and when Jayne plays dress-up we do the high heels and all... even if walking is difficult at times...

 On "good" Friday I took the kids to the park while Sailor slept.

After the park the kids and papa Mike had some fun with their BIG BUBBLE wands...

We soon headed inside to color more Easter eggs with grammy Ann

Jayne was more interested in her apple fritter...

Grey was such a good boy....He likes coloring eggs:)

After naps at home we all headed back over to grammy Ann's for some spinach lasagna.  It was sooooo good!  She was looking for something that was quick and easy and of course NO meat on Good Friday.  Well it was really good and now I have to try it because Sailor even gobbled it up!

My Greyson was soo good over the weekend....he played so hard and was just so happy to have little kids around to play with...I never even saw him unless he had to go potty or if it was time to eat...

Somebody my mom new was getting rid of their John Deere so Grey has been enjoying it a lot!

On Saturday morning we were up bright and early and ready for some Easter egg hunting!  Nate needed his coffee of course and Sailor was happy with her daddy most of the morning...

and these two....well they are just too cute!

Saturday night we all headed down to the woods...Dee Dee had us over for our annual Easter Eve partay!

and there was more egg huntin' to do...but let me tell you a secret - we don't fill the eggs!  Yep that's right...the way I see it...they have just as much fun if not more just running and picking up the eggs...so that's what we do...then we grab all those eggs again and back in the plastic bin until next year...stepped on, cracked, almost broken - we don't care...it's all good:)

And Finally I bring you to Sunday...another hunt...okay this time there may have been a few dollar bills among the empty eggs:)

And the Easter Bunny that lives all the way in Hawaii sent these...Ellary and Just got Grey a pair of roller blades...this outta be good...haha!

After a little bit of Easter at home we all got ready for 9:00 mass and let me tell you it was long!  The kids were really good for how they had to sit.  After that we all headed to grammy Ann's for a superb lunch!!

These were my 2 studs for the day...I got Grey and Nate matching outfits and they looked too cute!

We could not have asked for a prettier day.  The sun was shining and it was in the upper 60s!  That's my kind of weather!

We had a wonderful holiday with our family and friends.  I feel so blessed to have all of these people in my life.
