Fishing Expo

Saturday morning Baker's Lake had a fishing expo going on so we decided to take Grey.  We met Livy there too.  He looked super cute walkin' in with his little green toy fishing pole, but the only reason he brought it was because he pretends it is his green lightsaber. (it had nothing to do with the fact we were going fishing)  The poor (insert sarcasm here) kid doesn't have a green one, so he pretends that his fishing pole is one...so Nate pretty much did the fishing while Grey fooled around;)

She actually hooked MD and I happened to catch the moment so I had to post-ha!  Don't worry it was all good...

Tootie was there too and she enjoyed some potato chips for the first time...it doesn't take her long to find the goods...smart lil' cookie she is...

Oh and this would be MD...Aunt Amy's boyfrannnnd...remember the guy's arm we hooked earlier?!  ;)

This really really COOL tattoo (insert sarcasm again)...Grey thinks it's awesome...Every night so far I've scrubbed it in the tub and it still won't come off...

Some things to Share...

Last night I tried a recipe from Pinterest.  It was going to be Parmesan Crusted Tilapia but it ended up being Parmesan Crusted Cod. 

When I got to the grocery store they only had farm-raised tilapia and I was being picky for once because believe me I AM NOT PICKY about this kind of stuff usually.  So then I had to get the WILD cod.  I used the same recipe though and it was really good.  It can be found here.  And it was super easy and I'm ALL about easy!

And we added in some fresh asparugus, a salad, a twice baked potato for Nate, and some fresh fruit.

 It was yummy!  Greyson even liked the fish.  Sailor is not quite there yet;)

Oh and while I cooked I had some of this...can you believe this is the first time I've tried Summer Shandy?  I can't!  Where have I been?  So good!

After dinner we decided to take a ride out to Nate's parents house.  Once we got there we pulled out the 4 wheeler and went for a few rides in the woods.

And this would be today...Nate and Greyson did a little fishing this morning...and they caught quite a bit...some blue gill and some crappie

Sailor just wanted to grab it and squeeze...haha! 

She will be going on these little fishing trips soon enough.

And just a couple of my sweet Sailor in the tubby today because she was IN NEED of one;)  She may or may not have gone 2 days without one...stinky lil' girl this morning is ALL better - ha!

Fishing Buddies

It's no secret that Nate likes to fish and he's passing the torch onto Greyson in some way or another.  Grey usually lasts the first 10 minutes (lol)....he watches Nate put the bait on, reels a little bit, and then he's done....but he always comes back to check in or just pick up the pole...

Grey brought his butterfly net to catch 'something' in it...He was READY

There were no butterflies fluttering around so Grey decided he wanted the fish in his net...hey at least he had something in there...right?!

I promise you we only left the fish in there for a couple seconds and then it was back in the lake...

But before they threw it back in, Grey wanted to touch it

 And this one makes me laugh because Grey just happened to pick up the pole (ya know the whole going back and checking in thing) and started reeling it in and he just so happened to catch a fish and didn't even know it...lol!

And in between his "busy" schedule this week Grey even managed to stop out at Papa Davey's state headquarters and ride in some of the big tractors...he LOVED it! (iphone pics)

And so on this Friday I leave you with this...I told you we are trying...we're gettin' there one way or another!  Is he gonna love seeing this when he's older or what?!  (Nate told me not to post these, but I had to post just ONE)  This was the other night and he told us not to watch him so we both hid behind the wall where he couldn't see us and then I snuck out to take a picture...ha!
