10K Run today...

Today was the Canal Connection 10K run.  I did good last year, but this year I felt even better and stronger.  I remember crashing all day last year and feeling wiped, but not this year.  SO, I'm gonna tell myself I'm making progress with my running :-)

I was able to get 6.2 miles under my belt in about 53 minutes today.  I'll take that...I started getting a minor sideache but it went away - thank goodness...it was a beautiful morning for a run and the fall colors were awesome...

My good luck charms 'pre' race...

This was right at the beginning of the race...

and this was right at the end of the race...I was just about to cross the finish line when I spotted my family:-)

This is my friend, neighbor, and running buddy Jenny -I LOVE HER!!!  We are training together for our 1/2 marathon in March.
and this would be her hubby Mike...he's pretty great as well...

and my family that was there to cheer me on!  So thankful!  I told them that knowing they are at the finish line waiting for me is what gets me through the race.  My parents were both there as well - they had to sneak out a little early...

A Sunday Night Boat Cruise...

Well, actually we called it the "Subway Dinner Cruise"....we like to spice it up.  And by spicy I mean we picked up Subway for dinner, hauled the boat to the lake where our 'property' is, had two kids packed into their life jackets, and a cooler.  Oh and cookies - must not forget the cookies.  Let me tell you we were looking good in the Alumacraft (insert sarcasm NOW) and if you don't know what the Alumacraft is, because I didn't just up until a little bit ago - it's our boat we have.  See I learned something so now I refer to it with it's proper name;)  We/I like to think of it as our yacht, at least that's what I tell myself when I get in.

So, without further ado I give you our night on the lake...
I told Nate he should paint this baby...so far he hasn't listened to me;)

Sister wasn't sure of the boat at first but then she got her hands on the steering wheel and she was SOLD.

This is how classy we are....we  brought wine but forgot cups/glasses...so what else were we to do?!

Yeah do you see this cool boat and the person water skiing - we didn't look like them - hahaha!  Remember we were the Subway dinner cruise;)  I think if the Alumacraft would have been going this fast you would have seen smoke;)

then we stopped by the beach to take a dip...

We were SHOCKED to see this...but it's true sister took a dip...

And the best part is that we just stopped on the side of the lake to have supper.....we plopped right in front of someone's lake house, drank from our wine bottles, caught some fish, lost our cooler lid, and had the country music turned way up...we were more of a hotttt mess but Subway Dinner Cruise sounded much better.

Nate's Birthday...

I feel so lucky to have this guy in my life.  I don't know what I'd do without him.  He's taught me SO much that he doesn't even realize it and I'm so happy I have him by my side through the good and the bad.  I can honestly say that he's 'one of a kind' and puts his wife and family first and foremost.  I'm a lucky 'gal'...Not to mention he's the best dad a kid could have and if you ever see him with his kids you would know just what I mean.

Nate turned 32 on Feb. 21st and out of those 32 years I've been around for about 17 of them:)  (i met Nate when i was 15 - i think i did the math right?)
We all know Nate is a special guy...

We had our families over to celebrate...
I cannot tell you how much Sailor loves her little cousin...

a little Candyland...

Grey couldn't wait to give Nate his card..

And Giuliana even wore her 'i love my uncle' t-shirt...she already knows how to 'work' the crowd;)

makin' a wish with his daddy

Happy Birthday Nate!

We love you and wish you MANY, MANY, MANY more!
