10K Run today...

Today was the Canal Connection 10K run.  I did good last year, but this year I felt even better and stronger.  I remember crashing all day last year and feeling wiped, but not this year.  SO, I'm gonna tell myself I'm making progress with my running :-)

I was able to get 6.2 miles under my belt in about 53 minutes today.  I'll take that...I started getting a minor sideache but it went away - thank goodness...it was a beautiful morning for a run and the fall colors were awesome...

This is my friend, neighbor, and running buddy Jenny -I LOVE HER!!!  We are training together for our 1/2 marathon in March.

 and this would be her hubby Mike...he's pretty great as well...

and my family that was there to cheer me on!  So thankful!  I told them that knowing they are at the finish line waiting for me is what gets me through the race.  My parents were both there as well - they had to sneak out a little early...

Canal Connection - 10K Run!

I've been running for a while now and have been itching to do some official races.  I signed up for this 6 mile run about a month ago so that I HAD TO DO IT!  There was no backing out...I ran it by myself, but I didn't mind.  I wanted Nate to run it with me, but he thought he better sit this one out;)  I'm in the process of convincing him to run the Turkey Trot with me.  I'm already registered for that one as well, but he won't let me sign him up quite yet.  I think I'm gonna make him;)

Getting a hug from my favorite 4 year old....it was funny because I guess when the first people passed the finish line at 30 some minutes - Grey said "so mommy didn't win daddy?"  hahaha!  He was dead serious - love him...

It felt so good crossing that finish line especially greeting my family at the end.  Now, I wanna run a 15K.  That's next on my list...
