Sailor is ONE! Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Can you believe it?!  I can't.  I do not know where this year has gone.  I can tell you this though - it has probably been ONE of the best years ever and that is because I've been home with my family.  I don't think I've ever been happier.

Oh I LOVE this little baby girl!  One year ago today on 6.29.2011 at about 8:30am they layed this beautiful little angel on my chest...this was Sailor last year...(4 days old)

 from that to this...crazy!

So let's see...this month you have been getting stronger and stronger on those little chubby feet.  You are not walking but you continue to pull yourself up on the furniture and cruise along it!  You are BUSY BUSY BUSY.

You LOVE to raid my cupboards - it's probably your favorite thing to do and go through brothers drawers.  Every time I go in his bedroom his clothes seem to be sprinkled all over the floor:)  I have brought up the walking toys and you are starting to hold on to them and take a few steps.

You have started to climb the stairs so we need to make sure the doors are CLOSED unless I let you climb them while I follow you obviously.  You love to do that...

You have the biggest grin and I love when those 2 little teeth show - but they are still the ONLY teeth you have-ha!  And your voice is still very deep -cracks us up!

I still have you on formula but we actually went to the dr. today (it always seems as though I take my kids to the dr. on their birthdays) and he said I can start you on whole milk now so once we finish this jar of formula I think we'll give whole milk a try.  You eat anything and everything we give you.  You like to eat!  I have not given you any juice yet - just water.

You idolize your big brother...you watch everything he does and he loves you and is so good with you...Usually when I think he's up to no good I'll walk in the room and he's leaning over to give you a kiss or something...don't worry - he's got your back...you two will be good friends...

You take 2 naps a day and sleep through the night!

You are still crazy about waving to people and it's pretty darn cute!  Your favorite word continues to be da-da...you still 'throw me a bone' with ma-ma sometimes but for the most part you cruise around the house saying da-da-da-da. - You have your own word for Greyson and we can't make it out yet but we know that's what you're saying...

But you are still just a babbling machine...

You are crazy ticklish and love when we 'chase' you...and you are always up for a lightsaber 'war' with Grey.

You continue with the dance moves as well...when the music starts - you start bumpin' and you have recently started you're own little 'twist' - OMG is it cute!

But no matter what when you want to get to something FAST - you resort to the butt scooting...you will crawl when you have to and by that I mean if you get yourself in a pickle or 'stuck' you crawl your way out...

You are such a joy in our lives!  I love every morning waking up to those bright blue eyes!

11 months...

Well 11 months have gone by and I needed to post before I forget...In between the crazy weekend and everything we had going on Sailor decided to turn 11 months.  She's just a pistol and so fiesty!  Not too much has changed since last month.  She's still crazy BUSY and so mobile.  She's not walking yet but it seems she gets more and more mobile by the day.  She's pulling herself up on EVERYTHING.  So, now I'm waiting for the 'walking along' stuff but not yet.



We are completely done with nursing and baby food.  She wants nothing to do with the baby food.  I guess I don't blame her.  She eats anything.  I'm positive when we go for her check-up there will be no concern over her weight;)

It's so funny because Sailor is actually getting into the lightsabers now too - haha!  (oh no what do I have on my hands)  This here is a mini one...Grey likes to call her his little Yoda sometimes...

Her hair is getting so long on top that if I don't 'pin' it up somehow, it's in her eyes.  She has started to pull her bows out and that's a BIG NO NO;)  So now I switch between hair ties, barrettes, and bows...

She is still such a calm/chill baby.  Really she goes with the flow and I'm sure having Grey as a big brother has everything to do with this.  So that must mean if there's a third one - he/she should be a piece of cake-right?!  ha!  (NO I'M NOT PREGNANT!!!!)

Sister still has these crazy blue eyes...

and her cheeks...well they are squeezed, kissed, and sometimes it's all I can do not to bite them;)

The girl of course does have a temper and has started to show it a lot if she doesn't get her way...She throws a mind snap if her brother takes a toy from her and she's always so determined...

She has no problem 'fighting' back...i think she'll be one tough cookie;)

And still only 2 teeth for this girl...

Still growing like a weed and we wouldn't want it any other way...

9 months old

Our sweet, little angel baby is 9 months old already!  Nine months in and now nine months out...CRAZZAY!

We actually just got back from the doctors office.  Sailor had to get 3 shots today but she did really good.  She is 80th percentile for height but she only weighed 16 lbs...that's 10th percentile for weight.  So, Dr. Bob wants to see her gain some weight.  It actually made me a little nervous because the nurse weighed her twice thinking that their scale wasn't working.  Sailor is a breastfed baby but I'm actually ready to be done.  With that being said, I have been trying to give her formula and the girl acts like it's the WORST thing in the world.  I might have to experiment with a few different kinds.  So, we are working on that.  She eats three meals of baby food a day (a veggie and fruit) and I must say she's a GREAT little eater.  She loves her food!  Who doesn't, right?!

I have started to give her table food here and there and she has gobbled it right up.  A little bit of bread, some chicken, meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes...you know what I mean...and she loves her puffs.  We have also started using the sippy cup, but we need some work with it.

You are IN to everything.  You want to 'go' so bad but you are not quite crawling yet.  Insead, you butt scoot:)  Daddy has recently started calling you "scooter"...Greyson never did this, so we find it funny!  I will put you down in one spot and then the next thing I know you are half way across the room.  So, butt scooting seems to work for you.  I keep putting you up on all fours but you just won't budge with it.

You have just recently started sleeping through the night and I must say it's WONDERFUL!  I let you 'cry it out' a couple nights last week and it worked.  If you get up I just slip the binkie back in your mouth and back to sleep you go.  I usually put you down around 7:30/8:00 and you sleep until 7am...

You take two naps a day.  One at 9am and another one at about 1:30/2.  Your morning nap is always a good one.  It usually lasts until 11:00 but your afternoon nap is only a little over an hour.

You love love love to clap your hands and wave to people.  It's your 'thang'...

Whenever you hear music you start dancing.  It's so cute.  You've got some rhythm girl already!

You say da-da constantly and ya-ya...and a bunch of other non words pretty much all day long.  We love the babbling.  It's so fun!

You still do not have any teeth.  I talked with the dr. about this today but he says they will probably come ALL at once.  So, that should be lots of fun little girl!

Your hair keeps growing more and more and you are the cutest little blondie!  Your eyes are still the prettiest blue and your lashes are SOOOOO long!

 We do songs and finger plays all the time and you love it.  You enjoy being read to especially your new books with patty cake and the itsy bitsy spider.  Your brother and I are constantly trying to do 'so big' with you, but you prefer just to stare at us being goofy:)  And you LOVE peek-a-boo!

 You are definitely a mama's girl and we have become very attached to one another.  When I set you down or leave the room, there are usually some cries, but they don't last long.  You just like to see my face and hear my voice and then you are good to go.

You are just the best thing!

8 months old Miss Sailor

Let's see...what have you been up to?

For starters, you weigh 15.2lbs and wear size 4 diapers.  You are a tiny little thing.  You are still a drooling machine but no teeth yet.  You LOVE to eat and you like to eat fast.  If we are not shoveling it in, you start squealing.  You eat three meals a day.  You are still nursing but only at night and a few times here and there.  I have started to give you milk in a sippy cup and you guzzle it down.

You love to play 'peek-a-boo'....it might be your favorite.  We have been working on 'so big', waving, clapping, and some signing but not much.  I tend to sign 'more' to you and 'thank you' and you just watch me with those big blue eyes.

You are really liking those books that sound like you are crumbling paper and it has a mirror and you LOVE looking at yourself.

You LOVE your big brother.  If he's in the room with you - you are fully entertained just by watching him.

I'm trying to put you on all fours but you don't want anything to do with it.  You just prefer to roll all over or sit up.  I must say I really don't mind the 'i'll just sit here and play' stage.

You still don't sleep through the night and I know I write this on every monthly update of you...so big surprise-right?!  We are still hauling you around in your car carrier which is SOOO heavy but I'm kind of waiting for winter to be over and then we will move you to a regular rear facing carseat.  YOu are just so comfy and cozy in there and I know you are warm.  And to say you LOVE your carseat is putting it mildly.  It's like your 'safe' place.  If one of your grandmas is watching you and you start crying they just put you in there, give you your binkie and you instantly calm down.  Still don't know what you are going to do when it's gone?  (It's going to be an adjustment for sure)

You have a lot of 'spice' to add to that little personality and you are not afraid to show us.  You babble constantly and it is still dadadadada....

YOu also have this funny laugh that you do....it's almost like a deep belly laugh but it's fake...it's like you are trying to get us to laugh...too cute;)

You really don't like to get your diaper changed, but you make it through it.

You take two naps a day.  One at 9 and then one around 1:30 or so.  You still seem tired early evening but I usually hold off and put you down for the night at 7 or 7:30.

You LOVE LOVE LOVE your daddy!  Whenever daddy is holding you and I come to take you from him, you start this little whine...so then we play it as if it's a game...hah!

You are a blondie and your hair just keeps coming IN...I can't wait until I can get that sprout going right on top of your head;)  It's almost there!

(and let me tell you Sister can do some toe touches...Grammy Ann is always saying..."boy I wish I could bend like that...haha!)

You have also just started to clap...it's the cutest!

And your little hands just crack me up...you are always twirling them and your feet too...
