Bruiser

and this time it has happened to poor mama...

So, my face looks like this right now:(

 (this was yesterday)

I know it looks really gross - sorry...and let me tell you it HURTS!  It's really sore...

What happened???

Well, we were at our neighbor's pool and I was laying on a raft.  Grey wanted to come on it with me.  But, instead of waiting for me to put him on there - he decided to jump on me and his chin went right into my cheek.  I swear it knocked me out for a split second.  It immediately swelled up like a goose egg and yes I even cried.(i feel weird writing that-haha!)  but it hurt so bad that the tears just started coming....and then when Greyson saw my face he lost it as well.  He felt soooooooooooooooo bad.  It was obviously a complete accident.  He just wanted to lay with his mommy.  Needless to say we had a long talk about how we never ever jump on someone in the pool and yada yada yada...

Sorry for the view up my nose but this is how swollen it was all weekend...

I spent most of the day Saturday with ice on my face and I was scared to wake up yesterday.  It's been pretty painful.
We did take the kids up to Naperville yesterday, so i just put a hat on my head and some really BIG sunglasses...

I woke up today hoping the puffiness would be gone but it is still there.  We have Sailors birthday party this Saturday so I might have a black and blue/yellow, green colored face;)

Accidents happen and things could always be worse - right?!

Weekend Round-UP

We had a busy busy weekend.  For starters, Uncle Just and Ellory were home to visit so we started our Friday night out to eat with the Ernats.  We hit up a seafood buffet that was pretty good.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pics to show for it.  Saturday night Nate and I headed to a surprise 30th birthday party for our good friends while Grey went with Dee Dee, Papa Davey, Uncle Just, Ellory, and Auntie Mims to Bianchis for some pizza.  He was well entertained because he didn't go to bed until almost 10:00!!!

And Sunday brought some more goodness with some warm weather which I was not expecting.  It started with church for Grey and I, while Nate had to head to sidetracks to bartend for the day.  After Grey's nap we headed outside for the fresh air and the WIND.  We could have done without the wind, but will take the warmer weather.

Can you say sidewalk chalk?  I don't know who was more excited.  Grey or myself.  We have been waiting to use this stuff...

And after only a few scribbles he was done...figures...

I tried to write his name and draw a cool picture but he wasn't having it...

So I just sat not so comfortably actually...7 months pregnant kind of throws you off when it comes to sitting down on concrete but whatev...He was fun to watch and take pics.

Up close and personal while examining his chalk colors.

and soon he was asking me for the rake...

and I caught him dancing around a few times...;)

It was so windy, can you tell by Grey's hair here?

and soon after the rake was pulled out, daddy pulled up and Grey wanted to play in the back of the truck...

He rocked his orange shirt and tie in all this warm/windy weather...

And then amongst all this goodness it got a little hairy.  Sunday evening we headed to the Riva house because it was Uncle Alex's birthday and it was time to celebrate.  Well we were playing around and Grey and I were by the window.  Somehow, his leg got wrapped in the blind strings and he fell over right onto a basket and hit his eye.  I knew he was hurt immediately and as soon as I looked at him I saw all this blood around his eye.  Needless to say I panicked because I thought it was his eyeball.  Thank goodness it was NOT but he really has a shiner.  I felt terrible.
Sorry if this is too graffic...

By the time it was "cake time" he seemed okay but I was still pretty shaken up...

Giving kisses to Uncle Alex although you can't tell....

Some family pics...

Grey made an extra special wish for Uncle Alex...or maybe he just wanted to blow out a candle...lol!

Grey woke up this morning with an almost swollen shut eye and i could have cried when i saw him.  It already looks better from this morning.  I just want the puffiness to go away.  Poor little guy.  I just keep telling myself it could have been a lot worse.

A nice little morning...

Grey was up bright and early - 6:30am and I'm the only parent on duty today!  SO, it's only 8am and we're roaring to go!

Just Grey and I today.  Daddy went on a fishing trip for the day, so Dee Dee surprised us with doughnuts this morning from the new bakery in town....Steve's!  They were yummy......

a taste of the chocolate...

and a taste of the vanilla...

and a nice little "cheers" to Saturdays.....and yes we are still rockin' the xmas pj's....what the heck....they fit....for now...

we were trying to get our "cheers" just right....

and yes my poor little guy has got a shiner....it could have happened anywhere and grammy Ann felt terrible.  She called me at work before I came home yesterday to warn me;)  It was just a little accident with his little play table at grammy's.  It always looks worse than what it is.  I guess he barely cried.

So "cheers" to Saturdays....Our day together is going to involve some cleaning and I think some shopping;)

We thought the shiner was gonna be worse...

But it's not! This is just after one day. I thought with the looks of Grey's eye when it first happened was that it was going to be swollen shut when he woke up the next day, but it is not that bad. It is already healing so so fast.

And he's back into mommy's cupboards, so that's a good thing. He still has those sick eyes and he is still not totally himself, but I think we are on the right road for now. Thank goodness that fever broke. I was really worried about that.

And this is what Grey's hair decided to do last night after tubby time. A big giant banana curl. Maybe what I did with the comb had something to do with it?!?!?!?
