A Day in Chicago

Well thanks to all the many presidents of our country....we had yesterday off and what better way to spend it...up in Chi-town and to see Craigers off! We took a little day trip to bring our friend Craig to the airport and to visit with Uncle Just! Grey did pretty good, but he was a little maniac at lunch after he had been confined in his car seat the whole ride up......

He has a new thing with pulling off his socks...so not even two minutes into the trip this is what was goin' on in the backseat...

He was all camouflaged out including the new binkie my parents got him...

When we first got to Uncle Just's place we got stuck and Just and Craig had to push my car out because we were on pure ice and my tires were just spinning...You have to love city driving and parking

We made it out...

Then it was walkin' in the big city and onto some lunch...Uncle Just took us to this place called Small Bar...just a bar with good food and really HIGH tables (read On)

The Ernat Boys!

These were the high tables I was talking about...

Greyson did NOT want to sit in a high chair and I really can't blame him because the tables were so high that he couldn't even see any of us so this is where the maniac part came from

So, most of the time he was under the table (under all of us just walkin' around)

He chose to climb on his high chair rather than sit in it

And pulled over a stool to try

Neither worked for the poor kid (LOL)

Some good ole' beer on a Monday afternoon...

Still walkin' under the tables

The boys watchin' some of the Olympics while I was chasing Grey around

Then back to Uncle Just's for a quick game of pool

Then on our way home we had to say farewell to Craig...we are going to miss him...him and his wife are moving to Scottsdale, AZ......I couldn't talk too much at the time because I was getting a little choked up and I think Craigers was too so we both gave our hugs and said our goodbyes! We know we will see him again soon enough...

And then while we were in the Windy City we did take some time out and Nate, Craig, Grey, and I hit up WHOLE FOODS! Yes people it was quite an experience and Nate was making fun of me the WHOLE time...It was our 1st time there and let me tell you it really is AWESOME. I first heard about the place from my Aunt AMy who lived out in Vegas for some time and used to shop there - that's where she found the Egyptian Magic cream I told you about! A lot of my friends also rave about this place and I have been wanting to go there.
Now let me tell you Nate did NOT want to hit up a grocery store on his day off but we went to the one in Lincoln Park and it had a BAR in it people...an alcohol bar...and that's all Nate and Craig needed to see (lol) I have never seen a grocery store like this one and I don't think all the Whole Foods are quite like this one....we did get a few things and even some awesome kabobs that we are going to cook up tonight.....

The WHOLE FOODS experience...

Grey's like "mom what are you doing-these are just grocery bags"

And of course Nate had to buy some wine and beer there too....this is all it took to put a smile on his face :)

  1. Awe...bittersweet sending Craig off, I bet. LOVE Whole Foods! Matt and I have actually spent a Saturday night there...having drinks and enjoying their food counter where you can sit down and get something to eat! Sad I know, but there is show much there, you can spend hours exploring! And if you can't find it at Whole Foods, it probably doesn't exist!
