I guess you could say it's one of the joys of living in the Midwest.
Some of us can't seem to win around here. One wants it to stay in the 50s, another one wants ice, the little man wants snow snow snow so that he can be in it during every waking hour, and the littlest babe really doesn't seem to care;)
So just like always you have to go with it and take what ya get.
Tuesday you would have found us at the lake doing a little fishing. Greyson was fine as long as he had his 'grabber'...who knew the magical 'find' it would be that day at the museum. Thanks to grammy Ann, the 'grabber' has been on many trips with us.
And some kind of truck always seems to make the trip too.
Sailor was out of her carseat this time and I think she liked having a different view of things.
Unfortunately, the fish weren't biting...
But Grey didn't seem to mind...He was pretty content with his grabber and singing "i'm gettin' nothin' for Christmas"...He's still caught up in Christmas songs but I keep trying to tell him we are moving on...so far, it's not working;)
And since we weren't having any luck with the fish we did the only other thing we knew to do...play at the park.
And this was big let me tell you...Sailor even got in on the slide fun this time.
it's good therapy especially when you chase your 3 year old to the tunnel slide to see who's gonna get down the fastest...
and in between sun and snow we snuggle...this is always my favorite part of the day...BY FAR!
We all get in our bed and play for a bit and then read books...Whatever books Grey picks that is...This week Nate and I have memorized all about the Cubs...Even if he's not a baseball player he will for sure know all about the sport;) He's also been pretty hyped up with his new nerf gun from Santa...we hide the 'bullets' when he's around Sailor though...
and Thursday brought us to this...SNOW! I have to admit I do like a little snow...Especially the first bit of it...and it makes for some pretty awesome pictures.
We had our friend Lyla over for a little play date yesterday afternoon.
Nate and the kids shoveled this cool little snow pile in our front yard
And then we pulled out the big dog....the rad neon orange sled...
Talk about FUN...can I get a woot woot!
And there was some snow tasting for sure...as long as it's the fresh fallen 'stuff' we're good.
and let me tell you - it was a work out pulling these kiddos around our yard...
so fun though...even if their chins were frozen and their fingers were numb;)
and watching the snow plow come by with the flashing lights is always fun too...
After all the snow fun, hot chocolate was calling our names and so were some chocolate covered marshmallows.
Cheers to rosy cheeks, snowy days, and snowman mugs...
and my Sailor slept through the whole thing...
and the big debate...'to like the sock monkey or not to like the sock monkey' ;)
and I guess this is what she thinks of snow days...ha!
Happy Weekending Friends...
Sailor's little lamb hat is adorable...and Isla has those Hanna jammies :)
ReplyDeleteThe snow pictures are great!
