2 1/2

"A two year old is kind of like having a blender, but you don't have a top for it."  Jerry Seinfeld

Greyson seriously makes us laugh everyday and anybody that has a 2 year old around knows just what I mean.  Greyson hit the 2 1/2 marker on Monday, May 2, 2011 and as always time is flying.  I can't believe I will have a 3 year old this November.  CRAZY!  He adds so much personality, wonder, excitement, and spunk to our world.  He is a joy to be around and the stuff that comes out of his mouth is too much.

At 2 1/2 Greyson speaks in full sentences, he can sing his ABCs but of course never when I ask him to, he can count to 12, he knows his shapes, and his colors.  He is well aware of the letter "G" and he knows that his name starts with G but other than that we still continue to work on letters in the tub at night-ha!  They are the ones for the tub when they get wet they will stick.  And since he really can't go anywhere at that time I feel it's a good time to go over those;)  He is a very smart little boy and a total SPONGE!  I just can't tell you how much he just cracks us the heck up.  But once again all of you that have littles around know just what I mean!

Greyson can have a shy side also.  It takes him some time to warm up around new people, but around the people he's used to - LOOK out!  He asks a million questions a day, which is GREAT.  The usual -
"Mommy where we going today?"

"Daddy what's that?"

"Why daddy?"
"Why mommy?"

"No I don't want to eat, K?"

"Do I have to brush my teeth mommy?"

Me :  "Yes Grey we have to brush our teeth everyday."
Grey:  "But why mommy, my teeth not yellow." (hah!  this is one of my favs - he tells me this everyday)

"Can I bring my tools to grammy Ann's house mommy?"
"Can I?"
"Can I?"
"Mommy what you puttin' on me today?"
"Can i just wear sweatpants?"
(On school days I usually dress Grey up so it's funny because he prefers sweats-so he has started to ask what I'm going to put him in)

"No mommy those shoes too tight"..(tantrum kicks in here)
Just some of our daily conversations that I love!

He's thinking real hard just like a 2 year old should do...

In between 2 year old shots, I also was trying to fit in a little 'love where you live' if you will - Matthiessan State Park - Grey liked looking at the waterfall but the heights were freaking me out

You still LOVE when we chase you and play the "I'm gonna get you" game -you are definitely an outside kind of kid and fresh air does ya good....

You are so inquisitive and precise about everything - we won't say where you may or may not get that?  Maybe the precise from your mommy just maybe...

You LOVE your daddy and everything he does is just the coolest thing...you love when he plays with you and you are his favorite fishing buddy...there is just NO other person that can get those moo cows going out at the pond like you...

You and your curious little self is just the best thing!

I know you will be the best big brother and it will be your most important title...You already tell me that you are going to "shush" the baby to sleep for me...

31 weeks for mommy and your duties will begin here in 8 weeks or less my dear

You do have a temper of course and when things don't go your way we have our meltdowns and tantrums that usually end with a time out.  It's a little scary sometimes when you get your mind set on things, because then there is no looking back or talking with you about it...Once your mind is set - LOOK OUT!!!

You are a TRUE blue though and my lovie - that's what I like to tell you all the time - "Grey you're my lovie!"  Or I'll ask you - "Are you my lovie?"  And you sweetly nod your head...

Here you are showing your stuff on the bridge...pure delight...

you and your happy self when you are with mommy and daddy

You are getting very good in front of the camera as well...But you would have to be with how much it's in your face, right Grey?!

{more of 'love where you live'}

Some love for your mama

Pretty sure this was him saying..."go Cubs!"

He even picked me some flowers...

See, some pretty wildflowers from my lovie

Here you are showing us your mad hops

and what outing would be complete unless you picked some dandelions too...

You were slowly sneaking up on daddy who was catching the view

So, there you have it -we could go on and on about you Grey...you make life so much sweeter and you will be a great big brother!

So, HOORAY for 2 1/2!

We love you Greyson Lee more than you will ever know!

May Day

brought on some flowers of course.

But before we got to the flowers, we started our Sunday with Church, breakfast out at Oakridge (love the atmosphere there), then fishing for daddy and Grey, and Target and grocery store for mommy.

Grey came home full of mud from head to toe - a true little fishing boy - after we cleaned him up it was onto nap...He took a nice long nap and when he got up we went and picked up flowers for Grammy Ann and Dee Dee.

We wanted to ring the doorbell and run away but it just wasn't in the picture for a two year old and a pregnant mama.  Our first stop was at Grammy Ann's.  I promise you she opened the door, I just didn't get a pic of it;)

My parents are having some road work done down by their house and there are some giant CAT tractors there, so we put Grey on for some pics.

He loved it.....He kept saying "Mommy I'm gonna drive one when I get bigger!"

Don't mind his outfit....he had just gotten up from his nap

The next stop was Dee Dee's....we even parked down at the end of their driveway and walked up to surprise her with her May Day bouquet...

She was surprised alright....

We capped the night off with some of this...

And Grey's May Day bouquet made the perfect centerpiece for Sunday night dinner...Oh and I wrapped both bouquet's in pink and blue ribbon...it just seemed more fitting for this particular May Day!
Can't beat it!

Fun Fair!

Saturday the hospital was putting on a fun fair for the kiddos so we headed on over.  The biggest hit for us was the animal farm.  Grey really wouldn't touch anything, but Livy and Mary were all about it.

Grey was good at looking at everything...

up close and personal with the ferret

Liv could have stayed at the animal farm ALL day

Mary with the turtle

Grey played a few games...

and he got to pick just the right duck to get a sucker....Mommy said an apple blow pop....but he decided on a tootsie roll pop...

And these are just a few pics from the week...Grey gettin' down and dirty with his tools.

face shot

and these people have been pretty BIG in our house....The easter bunny brought these in Grey's basket and every morning we have to drop a capsule in the sink and see what we get and then he adds them to his plastic baggy...We only have 4 left...he only gets to do one every morning...lol!  We will definitely have to get him some more.  They are a hit for now!

And now I'm ready to get this week going.  Once May hits we officially start a countdown until Summer Break and my Summer "Break" will be EXCEPTIONALLY long this time around;)  So thanks Baby Ernat...I will get to be home with my two babies for quite a while...

Happy May Day!  Hope you gave someone flowers!
