We like themes around here...But the men in my life know what's really important and for them as long as their family is near they have a good time. And that we did.
We went with a mexican fiesta for Father's Day. All mexican food, margaritas, and a sombrero (however I don't have a pic of that sombrero my dad rolled in with -my fault completely) but we had it going on. We even had a pinata for the kids. Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mike were the fabulous hosts this Father's Day.
This one enjoying a blue sucker in the heat
Along with some love from Auntie Mims.
Then came the whoopi cushion....this played quite a role for us on Sunday...Grey thought the "noises" were just the berries...
A few gifts to open in between...
and pictures with 'da boys'
As I told you we went with a Mexican theme...with chips/salsa, hot tamali's, mexican ribs, chicken tacos, corn salsa - I'm tellin' ya we had it...it looked like a spread from Mickey's!
And for dessert, well we capped that off with grandma Joyce's homemade strawberry cream rolls...can you say - yummm!
Grey and his daddy
The fabulous hostess...
and then we broke out that pinata I was telling you about
and of course had fun with the whoopi cushion a little more.
Grey took his turn
Livy took her turn
and Mary took her turn, but we just weren't getting anywhere
We were havin' a hard time breaking that pinata so Grey and Dee Dee watched intently
Uncle Alex gave it a try
and Auntie Mims gave it a try
Then Mary pulled out her BIG DOG....and gave that sucker a good swat! Check out that softball stance.
and after a couple swings - the pinata broke and all the candy fell out
and the kiddos ran and filled their bags.
See!
Grey went with a ring pop to start!
Happy Father's Day! It was a good one!
I'm now hungry for a bean burrito...but we are having margherita pizza tonite...darn it! Looks like a fun daddy's day!
