Friday Happenings

First off, Sister loved her squash yesterday.  She sticks out that tongue and opens that mouth let me tell you.  It's too funny!

And we have SNOW....the lightest little dusting, but none the less - we have snow!  I just took these this morning.

Grey was squealing when he looked out the window...his exact words were "mommy you can't see the dirt no more."

And after Grey went to bed, daddy and Sailor had some snuggle time and enjoyed the Christmas tree...

And you know...I love me some Christmas lights...

My Loves

And back to some Christmas traditions, we have been busy baking with Grandma Joyce...Let me tell you, that woman can BAKE....

So there you have it in a nutshell...Grey has been a busy baker that's for sure...

I have more to share with our baking so I will be back.  But, I have to get ready because we are off to do a little 'out of town' shopping...Santa must get going on his Christmas list...

Happy Friday to you and yours!

Breakfast with Santa-Let's make it a Holiday Tradition, shall we?!

First of all, I was shocked by this!  I did not think Grey would even look at Santa let alone literally jump in his arms and let me take at least a dozen photos.

But he did and it was super sweet.

We had such a nice morning with Santa.

Grammy Ann joined us

and so did Livy

All that kept going through my head was 'this is what it's all about'

My decorations are not complete and I have NOT even started my shopping, but it doesn't matter because the little faces I see light up every night when we turn on the Christmas lights and the thought of Santa coming makes Grey squeal like crazy.

These special people in my life make me see the 'real deal' a little better each day...I love this time of year...

Grey enjoyed his breakfast

Sailor was busy making faces and baby drool

and Livy went back for seconds with the sausage...

all the while Santa and Mrs. Claus were not that far away

I want to give my children LOTS and LOTS of childhood memories...ya know the ones that they lock away in a special place and always remember...

I want them to know the TRUE meaning of this blessed holiday...and although 'Woody' helps a bit and St. Nick always drops by at the beginning of December...Nate and I are going to do our best so that our kids know what it's really about...

The magic and wonder of Christmas traditions is what it's all about and the 'believing' is what makes it all happen...BELIEVE

I value these times so much and that is what I want for my children so I will continue every year with tradition so that it is instilled in them and that their memory is FULL of great traditions and the wonder of Christmas all rolled into one.

See, Grammy Ann still believes...and she enjoyed Santa and MRs. Claus just as much as the littles did.

My kids happiness is what matters most to me and making memories with them...

(Christmas 2011)

and right before it was time to leave both Grey and Livy picked an ornament from Santa's special Christmas tree

Both of them picked little jingle bell ornaments...Nothing big, just a sweet, little, perfect gesture from Santa to hang on their Christmas trees.

So here I am trying to fill our calendar with Christmas memories that my children will remember forever

After breakfast we took a little stroll...Grey looked so dapper...

As we were leaving we saw them setting up for the carriage rides...

I hope you are taking time as well to make memories and holiday traditions with your loved ones.  December goes by so fast, so enjoy this special time.

And speaking of traditions, after library today we are off to help grandma Joyce bake some Christmas cookies.  That's the best tradition yet...

Happy Wednesday!

St. Nick Came!

We set out our shoes last night for St. Nick and when Grey opened the door this morning this is what was there...

 Lots of goodies this year...

He got another countdown to Christmas filled with goodies for each day until the 25th!

Sailor got a Hawaiian girl and Grey got a surfer dude for their Nutcrackers this year

This was Sailor this morning watching her big brother

St. Nick also brought Grey a Ukulele

and Uncle Just got Sailor her wooden shoe this year so that she would be all ready for St. Nick...Thanks Uncle Just!

Grey was pretty excited when he opened the door this morning!

And in other news, what's wrong with this picture?!!
