Our Patio Progress...

We are putting in a patio and are so excited!  I didn't want to fork over the money for a big stamped concrete patio;) but now that I see it...it's definitely worth it...I'm ready for some 'outdoor living'...

It's nice because we have quite a BIG backyard and a nice size 'side' yard...so there is plenty of room for a big patio, but still room for the kids to play as well...

 This was Monday...Sailor is waving hi;)

This is what it looked like Tuesday...

and here is today...Wednesday...these are the half moon steps they put in...(I was so glad to see those icky wood steps go!)

then the big concrete truck came today....Grey loved watching that go on...

I felt bad for the guys - they worked HARD...and it was so hotttttttt...

and this is where we are as of just a little bit ago....it's not going to be this exact color....they have to come back tomorrow and pressure wash it...but you can see the stamping in there...

and this is our built in fire pit...

I'll be sure to show the finished product when it's all done...

As you can see there's been a lot of action around here this week...but it's fun to see the progress...stay tuned...

And of course lots of fun thrown in between...this was just the other day at the park before we hit up the pool with friends...

 I can't get enough of Sister in her new suit (it's a one piece and then a skirt to go over it)...Uncle Just sent it all the way from Hawaii for her birthday:))  We had gold sandals to go with it but a certain puppy named Guinness chewed on them and broke the zipper:((

She's all about pushing these days...

So, there you have it...this is what our days look like around here (throw in a picnic lunch and we're good to go;)...and we are loving every minute of it...

Our Fourth

was spent with friends and family sitting poolside with wonderful food and plenty of cocktails to go around;)  I'm thankful to share these family traditions with my children and you know we are always up for a good party - and a good party it was....one of those days where I didn't hear from Grey because he was too busy swimming with his buddies and having such a good time - I just kept glancing at him every so often because now he thinks he's a big wig in the pool without floaties...Sailie is a different story;)

We packed coolers and everyone brought a dish to pass.....cranked up the music....and we were good to go...good ol' fashion 4th of July picnic...

She's 2 and I'll be back...

This little girl had a fantastic birthday party!  I haven't forgotten about it.  I just can't keep up at the moment.

Much more to share on the birthday front, but for now I'm taking my kids in the jogger and going for a run and then we have to make a banana cream pie for our party this afternoon:)

My Little Firecrackers...

First off, it's been a really long day here.  Our Uncle Dick passed away on Saturday and today was the service for him.  We brought the kids as well and they were SO GOOD.  Many tears were shed, but it was a beautiful service and tribute to him.  He will forever be in our hearts. 

So, even though I have a heavy heart today and really wasn't in the 4th of July spirit, I did dress my kids up tonight and took some pictures of them before we went to see some fireworks.

We had lots of sparklers left over from Sister's birthday party, so we are good to go for tomorrow:)
