Turkey Art

I promised Grey yesterday that we would make some art projects in honor of Thanksgiving.  I did have to make a quick run to hobby lobby to get the things we needed.  He loved the glue stick.  He waited patiently all day reminding me every now and then about the turkey art we were going to do.

Sailor was so tired by the time we got to our projects but she did watch her big brother for a little bit.  I wanted to make a little turkey with her handprints but she was just too tired.

I was busy cutting things out!

Grey LOVED this and he said it was tickling his hand...

The finished product - Grey's handprint lil' turkey...I'd say he did pretty good!

Right after this we put Sailor to sleep and made one more thing - a turkey headband...

Nate and I pretty much put this together while Grey just kept cutting and

and cutting

and cutting until i had a nice pile of little paper scraps ALL over my kitchen floor.

and of course I needed kisses from my lil' turkey

and then we showed Grey what he looked like - he got a kick out of himself!

and to end the night Mr. Turkey asked for a shake...so we did just that!

Just Because...

He's bathed and dressed today and Sally too but she's sleeping.

and because he makes me a better person...I think thankful would be the word for me...truly thankful.

We are gonna do some 'turkey' art projects when he gets up from his nap.  So be sure to check back later...hopefully you can see Sally too!

A tea party!

Grandma Joyce, my mom, and I (and Sailor) made a toast to the holidays on Sunday afternoon with some tea from Georgia's mom-Judy...
It was so good...My only request was to drink it in a tea cup and saucer...so that we did.

Sailor was really lookin' at that tea cup...

We had some 'fun' conversations yesterday over that pot of tea that only grandmas/mothers/grandaughters could appreciate and enjoy.

We also helped grammy Ann put up some Christmas decorations.  Grandma Joyce helped all day.  I may or may not have put Sailor and Grey down for a nap and went out to run some errands;)

I also took both kids to church by myself.  Luckily grandpa Hank was there.  For the record, Sailor stayed in her car seat the whole time and Grey did pretty good!

Other than that we had a pretty calm and quiet weekend.  But I'm anxious to get my Christmas decor up so I might start that today.

Family Pictures were a BUST

We tried for some family pics a few weeks back but no luck...

These are the three I have.  Yeah one of those times where not everyone wanted to cooperate at the same time.

But the background was to die for.  It looks like a backdrop, but it's not.  This was down at Ernat's house when the leaves were just the right color and just about to fall...

and so on this Friday I'll leave you with Papa Davey instead...and a little bit of Nate there too!

Happy weekending!
