Our Thanksgiving

I love holiday dishes.  When it's my time to host holidays I will sure be ready.  I've been taught and shown by the best!

Thanksgiving starts early for the peeps around here.  It's a holiday tradition for all the guys to start at the bar to buy their tickets, which usually starts at about 9am or so.  After that, we all head over to Deb's and start with appetizers.  Both of our families are under one roof for the holidays and I'm so very thankful for that.
My little turkey givin' Den some love...

The drums are always a favorite for the kids...Believe me when I say they all know how to rock out...

The weather was nice enough (especially for this time of year) so the kids enjoyed being outside.  We are always thankful when we have our cousins to play with...

Our buddy Brayden stopped by for a little bit and joined in on the fun...

Meg, Brayden, and Den..............We keep telling them it's time for another;)

Uncle Just was not home this year, but we were thankful that Ellary was able to join us...

What do I even say about this?

And let me tell you...we pulled out Dee Dee's chest of dress up clothes...the kids played dress up in the woods...how fun is that?!  We were entertained with Batman, Dorothy, and a Princess (Jayne LOVES princesses - she brings her high heels with her wherever she goes:)

Greyson loves to dress up too...I've been told many many stories about his daddy loving this too...Most of the pictures of Nate as a lil' guy he's dressed up in some type of costume-ha!

Sailor was so good all day and she didn't nap....bless her little heart...

playing with mommy's phone...

And right before we sat down to eat Deb read to us...it was a really good article she found about what's really important during the holiday season...and that it's okay if the 'turkey catches fire' or if the 'potatoes are lumpy' - all that matters is that we are all together...SO TRUE!

It was a feast!  Everything is made from scratch where we come from;)

And check out our newest little turkey...Guiliana Grace...

And now we are onto some serious/hard core Christmas decorating around here...
Bring on the Christmas Lights:)

Thankful

today and always...

It is that perfect time of year to really put some deep thought into our life and really think about what we are thankful for and the blessings we have.  Not just because it's the holiday season but because it's a great time to reflect on the year.
a little fun with some editing

I must admit I get a little giddy around this time just thinking about the holidays.  I put this warm and fuzzy picture in my head of a fire place burning, everyone I love around me, telling stories, my kids playing, and a glow from all the christmas lights...now that's something good.  I'm cheesy like that:)  I also like to picture Nate and I at some fancy Christmas party all dressed up drinking our cocktails and spreading some holiday cheer - something in the city perhaps-ha!
(I started putting Christmas stuff up last week.  Every night I've been putting a little up.  I like the feeling of not feeling rushed.  I've just been taking my time:)

I am so thankful for my husband, my children and their health, our jobs, our wonderful families, and our friends we have.  I didn't always feel this way about my job because I wanted to be home with my kids, but I'm telling you it has just all fallen into place somehow.  I feel good about going to work.  I feel good about Greyson in preschool.  And I feel so good about leaving Sailor with either Nate, Grammy Ann, or Papa Davey.  We all know I take long maternity leaves:) but then I get to leave my kids with close family and that my friends is VERY important to me.  And for that, I'm thankful.

(sister loves her blankie)

I am also thankful for the people I have met through blogging and thank you for reading our little corner here on the web.
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you indulge in all the good food and wonderful people around you on this day.  I know I will!
