Labor Day Party #2

and my mom's birthday party too! But, this time the party was at Grammy Ann's house! She had everybody over for a wonderful traditional early Thanksgiving dinner. Yep we had a turkey to use up so we had everything you'd see out for thanksgiving and let me tell you I gobbled up potatoes, sweet potatoes, and turkey. It was sure yummy!

And since everyone was home and my mom's birthday is on Tues. the 8th we decided to throw a party for her as well. Grandma Joyce made her famous homeade apple pie squares and they were delicious...I had some of that too! My mom got money....an awesome new handbag (diaper bag for me)...some more money....some new soap from bath and body....more money....and it was a great birthday party for her...

Labor Day Party #1...

At the Ernat household of 3! Yep, we had a little labor day party to kick start the weekend. Uncle Adam and Auntie Georgia are home too which makes it a whole lot better....And Uncle Just is supposed to be coming in today...you will soon know if that happened....I will be sure to let you know. My grandma Joyce made this main dish that we all love...it's called Ziti....It's kinda like a lasagna dish...noodles...red spaghetti sauce...lots of cheese....you know what I mean....and we ordered some Rips chicken.....It was sooooooooooo good!
Cocktail hour of course started at 5:00 (granny Deb has trained my mom well with this) and we ended up eating at around6:30-6:45 (yeah, cocktail hour ran over) but that was okay because then everybody was really hungry....Granny Ann pretty much planned my mom's whole party...she was a big help and she even brought grasshoppers for dessert...It was a really fun time for the whole family...
This is me walkin' around everywhere with my walking toy...Do you like my new nike jacket?

Auntie Amy and Livy feeding me...

My big backyard...and the Riva boys...Someday soon my mom will have to put a swingset back there for me...

I just love a party

Uncle Adam was helping me walk

I really liked the fire pit...my hands and feet were all black...

See...this is what I really want

This is MD....and we were laughing because he ate one of my dad's really hot peppers...I must say he handled it very well...

I got your glasses Grammy...

Toward the end of "my" night Uncle Adam gave me my bottle

Hangin' around the fire...

More relaxin'

It was a great start to the loooooooong weekend:)

Memo: To Greyson...I miss you

Here's an "oldie" but goody for you...

Posted by Picasa
Dear Greyson,
I just want you to know that I miss you very much while I am at work. Some people keep telling me that "you" will get "used" to leaving your kids, however I know myself that I never will. When I am at school I often wonder what you are up to and what type of mischief you are getting into. Now don't get me wrong...I have you in the best care i could ever imagine and some people only dream of being able to go to work and leave their baby with their very own parents. And since I have gone back to work I have been able to leave you with grammy Ann or grandma Joyce and on occasion Auntie Amy. So I know that I am very blessed with that.
But sometimes (everyday)...I just think to myself I want to be home with my baby Grey. I also can't believe how fast you are growing up. Time flies when you're a kid havin' fun and a kid on the go!
I am also in the midst of trying to throw you the best 1st birthday ever! You have given us so much your first year of life and we just want to party hard all for YOU!
So, Greyson I will never ever get used to leaving you on these work days even if it is only some random hours that I miss of your "action" that I love oh so much~! I just eat up all that you do and wanted to reiterate that to you.
Love, Mommy

A new tooth, some projects, and a purchase...

How's that combo for you?

Well yesterday when I got to grammy's house the first thing I noticed was how warm Grey felt and I knew when I left in the morning he was just not himself. Now he has been teething like crazy but there were no new teeth popping through. So my mom took over in the morning and he was fine. Then in the afternoon he did start getting warm. So, I was a little worked up because the day before we had a meeting at school about this swine flu and Nurse Mary was talking about fevers. So, anyway, I got home, changed Grey's diaper, and checked his temp (perfect timing in between diaper changes) and it was 101.5. So, I immediately gave him some motrin. Well, about 5:00 I was feeding Grey supper and decided to look inside his mouth again and sure enough he popped the very top right tooth. Yes, his teeth are coming in weird order, however I guess now he won't look like a little vampire for too long, because I am sure the top left tooth next door will be making an entrance very soon. SO my poor little guy was not that happy last night....
This is Grey before motrin...get the picture

This is Grey letting the motrin settle in...lol!

And this is Grey back up and at em'-yes he still loves the bathroom for some odd reason...he gets very excited in there...

crawling all over...

debating on what to do next...

This is the new purchase...Our new jogging stroller arrived yesterday...We were just using my friend Camrons jogger because she has a double now, but I caved and bought myself one because I was getting a lot of use out of Camrons and decided I needed one of my own. I just went with the In Step Safari Jogging Stroller
We strapped Grey in so he could get a feel for it...

Also, this is Grey in our breezeway (our projects)...it was all paneling and we ripped it out...Actually it all started because our roof in this area was leaking....so one thing leads to the next...we ended up getting a whole new roof...then we put up drywall...painted it a cool clay color...new floor....and now we just need to get the white trim up...

These are my new countertops...they are waiting in the breezeway....I can't wait until we get them in...they should really give my kitchen a whole new look...

So Grey was not a very happy camper on his 10 month little birthday...his present was a new tooth...and we'll just say a new stroller...

Happy 10 Months Buddy!

Exploring, exploring, exploring is the name of the game...Greyson you have absolutely NO attention span but that is what a thriving 10 month old should be like. I guess I would be worried if it was any other way. This makes me think of grandpa Hank who is always saying..."come on Grey sit with grandpa for 2 whole minutes" All of you folks around grandpa Hank know exactly what I am talking about...he still says the same thing to the Livster-lol!

  • Anyway-Greyson -you love to see new places and love to explore all areas of everywhere you go.
  • you absolutely Love love love...did i say love your binkie...all we have to do is show it to you and you start laughing...
  • you love to dance with mommy...whenever I start music you laugh and then when I start to shake what i "got" you start laughing even more
  • you love to play with other kids
  • you love to swing especially from grandpa hank's cool swing hanging from his tree
  • you currently have your two bottom teeth and the "vampire" teeth but are still teething like crazy
  • you are a big fan of mac-n-cheese these days
  • you love your yo baby yogurt for breakfast
  • you love when we take you for walks, but now the "thing" is to stare at the ground while riding along in your stroller (don't ask-who knows) you don't look around you just stare down at the ground-lol!
  • you love to eat and you really like your puffs
  • you enjoy playing with mommy's pots and pans
  • you are still walking along things...you will occasionally let go and stand...but no walking yet
  • you babble all the time
  • you are able to do 'touchdown'
  • you really like your tubbies but have started now to cry when we poor water over your head to get the soap off....
  • you love when I rock you to sleep...it's the only way you go to bed...we wouldn't want it any other way buddy (just between you and mom)
  • another thing that is thriving like crazy on you is your HAIR -yep-it just keeps coming in more and more...
  • we are working on signing...we have started to do 'more'...but are working on others as well
  • you also like to work out with mommy on occasion
Here are some pics from yesterday....we finally have some "boy" wheels for Grey to get on...enough with that Pink stuff-right Grey?!?!? Grey is obviously not ready for this but we strapped him in so he will get used to it...He'll be ridin' around in no time....

So happy 10 months Greyson Lee...we love you...
*Sidenote* I am currently seeking out ideas for 1st birthdays. I have been googling for ideas. Still have not decided on what I am going to do yet. All I know is that "the cake lady" is going to do Grey's awesome cake when we come up with one. We might just make it all about the "blue" - don't know thought yet. Let me know if you have any ideas for me?!?!?!?

Cheers to Girlfriends!

Sunday we had our friend Chele's shower out at oakridge. It was a beautiful day! She is getting married in November and we can't wait to party with her!

"Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other gold" (My mom used to "sing" this to me when i was younger!) It's always great to get together with my friends and catch up. This group right here always seems to pick up right from where we left off! You really have to appreciate that.
