Dog "Tales"

Lasalle Library puts on this dog tales for kids.  We decided to check it out because we thought Grey would really enjoy it and it gave us time to just spend with Grey.  He has been being such a good big brother, but it was nice for him to have mommy and daddy all to himself for a little bit.
(Grey's special bookbark that he got for reading to Elli)

What it is....ok so this older woman brings in her trained type sheep dog that was rescued from a shelter.  She sits while kids read to her and her name is Elli.  She does not bark because she has been trained to do so.  There was a nice small group of children there and Grey did really good even though in between reading he asked if he could leave to get some chicken nuggets...ha!

Nate and Grey checkin' out the scene

We started in here...

and then Grey sat very nicely at a table with his Thomas coloring sheet

I grabbed a puppet book

and Grey and I did some counting

We also read Miss Wishy Washy

Then came Elli and all the kids had to let her sniff them and then they could pet her.

Grey was one of the last kids to read to Elli

So he sat very nicely with his dinosaur book.

Then it was Nate and Grey's turn to read to everyone.

Grey did a very good job of showing his audience the pictures.

Dog Tales ended with Elli showing us some of her tricks and Grey got a coupon to Culver's for an ice cream cone along with his special bookmark.  Of course the minute we left he was asking if he could go get that ice cream cone.  We decided to save it for another night and he was okay with that.

I think we will def. go back and try this again.

And today we were off to Peru summer camp for Grey.  It was a miracle that I had both of my kids bathed, fed, and ready by 9am.  ME - not so much but that's the way it is for the moment.

My friend Camron is actually in charge of it for the week and it's really cute.  It's circle time, book time, duck duck goose time, then the kids break out to different centers.

Grey started with decorating his race car...

finished product - let's just say he liked the glitter.

And while her big brother was having fun with all his "projects" Sailor was perfectly content in her carseat.
