Happy Birthday Papa Davey!

Papa Davey turned 61 over the weekend.  Sunday to be exact.  We headed over there for some cocktails, a delicious steak dinner, and of course some cake.  A birthday party would not be complete without CAKE and for us it is usually ice cream cake.

We chatted, we laughed, we  I took pictures, we let my kid run around naked with the hose, and we I drank too much wine.  But it was all good.  And what came out of it?  Well, Davey turned one year older and we were all there to celebrate with him.  I guess he's just one year wiser....right?!  Along with age comes wisdom...so "they" say!!!

Here they are...The HEAD Mr. and Mrs. of the Ernat clan...aka grammy Dee-Dee and papa Davey

Just an up close and personal view of the new and "wiser" papa Davey

This is all Grey needs when he's outside

Father/Daughter pic

Sorry we kinda lost Davey a bit...women sometimes tend to do that to you?!  lol!

The godmother, the papa, and the lucky little boy

Auntie Mims and her favorite/main squeeze Kevin...They had a rough night prior to this - can you tell?!  To much partying!

 Look how white Grey looks.

Okay these next few pics crack me up.  As I mentioned Grey wanted to play in the hose and instead of soaking all of his clothes we thought we would just let him run FREE.  Why do kids love to be naked?

and this ONE....well it just has me laughing out loud!  If only we could all do this some days!  As I always say...there is nothing as pure as childhood...

But all things must come to an end and it was time to put the hose away and Grey to get dressed...

These two did the cooking...

while the rest of us sipped on wine/beer  (one sipped on apple juice and even offered live entertainment)Guess who?

And then after dinner it was cake time!!! Deb tried to put in candles while...

Auntie Mims tried to goof around with her mother like she always does...

We finally had them all lit!  Happy Birthday to you...

Make a wish Papa!

Grey was ALL eyes

But a very good helper nonetheless...

He handed everyone a plate and a fork, which I'm not to fond of my kid walking around with sharp objects but this "moment in time" was an exception

and in-between "hand-outs" Grey would sneak in a few bites as well...All of his customers were very willing to give him a bite as they could see he was working hard.

However, Grey's duties came to an end because he thought it was time to dig into some cake all by himself.

Happy Birthday Papa!
We wish you many many more!
