Home Grown...

It's the best kind...My little angel in her purple...She's just growing like a weed.  I want to tell time to STOP.

Sunday we found ourselves hungover - I say 'we' but if you recall, a certain daddy was at a bachelor party the night before.  I think you know who I'm referring to;)
That was fine in our days 'before children' but it's a different story when you have a toddler who wakes up at 6am and can't wait to see his daddy and jump on him in bed - the same daddy who just rolled in about 5 hours prior.  It comes with the territory.  And Sunday morning Grey just happened to be roaring to go a little more than usual, but Nate was a champ and played with Grey like there was not a headache to be had;)

On the contrary he was able to catch some down time with Miss Sails while big brother was taking his afternoon nap.

As for me - I was craving bruschetta!!!  But guess what these are?
These are Nate's home grown tomatoes from our backyard and let me tell you they were delish.  So after he brought in the tomatoes I high tailed it to the grocery store to get the rest of my ingredients needed and made a pit stop at grandpa Hanks house for some fresh basil from his garden.  In no time at all I found myself back in my kitchen whipping up bruschetta - like a pro -ha!  Home grown tomatoes, fresh basil, minced garlic, chopped onions, added just the right dash of olive oil and a splash of balsamic vinegar to make it complete.

Yummmmm...Our bruschetta made the perfect appetizer for Sunday night dinner.  Nate washed it down with some 7up on this particular Sunday evening;)

and then it was time for some experimenting....If you can't see there is a tiny little capsule inside Grey's bowl of water...

We kept telling him he was a scientist waiting on his experiment.  He had his experimental tools all ready which included tongs and a plastic spoon.

Introducing Dino capsules people and they can entertain my kid for quite some time, but the key -make sure to use HOT water.

They watched closely because that's what good scientists do

and then finally after lots of hot water that capsule came to life...a cool sponge life

and Miss Sails came to life too...after a long snooze she was ready for action

so we had a cheers

I was trying to "cheers" with Grey but he wasn't getting it.

so then he moved onto Dee Dee and had a heart to heart followed up with kisses

and to end the night I give you 'Mutt and Jeff'

they decided to paint

Home grown - there's nothin' like it.
