St. Patrick's Day Party

My friend Camron and I hosted a St. Patrick's Day party at a local children's boutique this weekend.  We are hoping to do a 'kids party' one Saturday a month and each one will have a different theme.  Just something for kids in our area to do that's fun and educational!

My only hope for the next one is that there are more boyssss;)  Grey was the 'thorn' among ALL the roses!

We had lots of fun.  We read a cute leprechaun book about friendship, sang songs, hid the shamrock and the kids had to find it, went on a leprechaun hunt looking for a pot of gold, each child frosted and decorated their own cookie, had popcorn, painted the girls nails green (not Grey's ;)), and made a leprechaun with their handprint...  There were also chalkboards the kids could write on and a karaoke machine to play with along with some 'air' guitars!  I think the kids enjoyed it and so did I!!

 this was our leprechaun hunt

Lyla was looking for green tracks;)

One of Grey's favorite parts was the guitar...he loves to rock out;)

So if you are in this area you should come to the next one we have!  It was a lot of fun!

Summer Days

From the minute this little guys feet hit the ground in the morning

he's ready for action

and a little morning TV...particularly SPROUT

drawing a picture or more like erasing his chalkboard.

and he's good at giving me funny faces especially when he's telling me - "no more pictures mommy"

We jump started our morning with arts and crafts at the park.  They just started this week.  So we gathered up a whole 50 cents and we were good to go - can't beat it.  It just happened to be painting.

At first Grey didn't want to do it...of course he just had to get comfortable and the next thing I see was him grabbing for a "paint" shirt to put on...it always takes him a minute with something new

Livy came with us too

and our lil' buddy Brody was there too

Livy's was neat and precise

while Grey did a little more "exploring" with his...he mainly stuck with the blue paint

After arts and crafts we had a picnic outside and then we met Auntie Mims at the pool

Grey had a ball...

Running around with his new swim shoes on...I love those things...

Auntie Mims gave me a nice break today...I just sat on the side of the pool and soaked up some rays while she and Grey played in the pool...

Summer Days are the best!

Late Night Snack...Toddler Style

Because I guess noodles, fresh corn on the cob, and garlic bread wasn't enough -  all compliments of Auntie Amy I might add.  So he played and he played and he played until his little heart was content, but then when we got home, it was "mommy I need a snack"

So at 9:00 Grey was eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and drinking a glass of milk.

and posing for the camera while he ate...

He ate every last bite along with counting to me and singing his ABCs...I think he was trying to prolong the process before bed;)  Then it was time to brush our teeth, say our prayers and cozy it up in the crib.

And this, well this is a picture of Grey in his summer PJs - Uncle Just says he looks like a 70s beach star in these short shorts-LOL!

Happy Mother's Day!

I wanna take the time to relish in my special day.  I am so blessed with 2 little angels and being a mom has been the best thing that has ever happened to me.  I LOVE it!  It's my most important/cherished/hardest job.
I have much more to share with you about the special women in my life, so more to come.

But for now, it's another manic Monday.  I'll be back!

Kickin' It...Easter Style...

Along with the holidays comes many things and first and foremost....entertaining the kiddos.  I should really rephrase that to along with EVERYDAY comes first and foremost-entertaining the kiddos.  What to do with these days in between melt-downs, getting them fed, getting them ready, getting them their naps, and all the other stuff that needs to get done, etc etc.  The list goes on and on.

We did finally get to Easter cookies mid morning after...{here goes}.... some laundry was folded, some vacuuming was done, a workout for the prego mama was completed, a two year old finished his bowl of cereal, a meltdown (maybe a couple of those), a Target run for the cookie "stuff", and a pit stop at the grocery store...It's amazing what we can get done and all in sweats and jammies too...

I told you he had to finish his cereal first and would you check out the grip on that spoon....we really don't hold it like that...hah!

Oh and he did manage to get some work done for me too...that is before we did the cookies...

Ok so back to this post....kickin' it Easter style....let's start with some Easter cookies - shall we?!  Oh what fun for a two year old to have three bowls of frosting put in front of him, some confetti candy, and some jelly beans and then your mommy say...."go for it Grey".......it just screams excitement doesn't it!

Here are the cookies baked and ready to go...right before the frosting fun began in my kitchen-remember we're kickin' it!

Daddy took some pictures for us

We had no cute Easter knives to use so we were left with some snowmen...just Grey's size

But first a kiss "break" in between frosting...

Grey had to do some taste testing

and he added just the right touches to each one

This is kickin' it Greyson style...Good job Grey!

and of course some MORE taste testing along EACH and every step of the way

Don't worry my friends, we will be the ONLY ones eating these...ha!

And I bet you can hardly wait......

the FINISHED product!

That's right, we're kickin' it Easter style!
