Sparklers and a Cupcake...

I felt bad that Grey did not see any fireworks this year.  SO, last night after supper we had to make a Target run and they had sparklers clearanced out -so sparklers it was!  We brought them home, gave Grey a cupcake, and headed out to light them up.

Grey thoroughly enjoyed his cupcake

but honestly could have cared less about the sparklers...lol!

Nate had a hard time lighting it up....but Grey was all eyes with the lighter - good thing it's child-proof

he wanted to give me a bite more than he wanted to watch the sparklers

and just a "look back" again at Grey last year on the 4th because these crack me up....he looked like such a little chubber... July 4th, 2009

It was ONE of those Nights

where you said you could not eat another bite, but then you end up going for pizza and finishing off a WHOLE pizza with your hubby and son! - Bianchi's people - love it!  It was one of those nights where you knew you needed to get your little out of the house because he had been inside all day.  It was one of those nights where the wife said let's all still be patriotic - it's only July 5th so we all dressed in red, white, and blue - hey you never know when a cute photo opportunity will arise...it was one of those nights where we were done eating way too early so we still needed to entertain "someone".  It was one of those nights where we decided to take a stroll along the riverwalk and of course it was one of those nights where I pulled out my camera to take some pics.  Maybe I wanted to catch some of those moments I never want to forget.  Maybe I wanted to catch some moments of us being patriotic.  Maybe I wanted to just take pics of my baby boy.  Whatever the reason was here it is for you to see.

My hubby took this one of me....he thinks his photography skills are better than mine...lol!  I like to see the mommy sometimes (on other blogs I read) who is behind all this writing and who is always taking the pics...so here I am people -hah!

Grey was good and liked watching the boats go by

He also liked waving at every boat that went by

And although I don't have an actual picture of it he liked picking up the "arbage" that was laying around to and throwing it away - imagine that?!

And although the riverwalk was cool and so were the boats... we found a slide and that made the river look like nothin'

So it was a good night to get out, eat some pizza, entertain a toddler until he was all sweaty and tired and then home for bath, books, and bed!

4th of July contd.

On the actual 4th Deb had Mimi's graduation party. She thought since everyone was going to be in town - what the heck?! So, yes I do remember telling you this girl did end up graduating-lol! These were her invites that I made for her - they turned out great!

and yes this is the same girl on the day of her party! - lol! (a little too much beer pong) - Look OUT she could be your nurse someday!

It was so flippin' HOT so the kiddos cooled off in the pool.

Can't you just taste the summer?

Then it was onto a little game of beer pong by request of Mimi Lou...Nate's cousin Nick was my partner - this would be Aunt Donna's other son...from California.  He was coming up with a strategy - I however just drank my beer...hah!

Aunt Donna watched the whole tournament.

Then Mims and I teamed up for the finale

This is Nick's wife Joann - she's a teacher too and we think they are "trying" to have a little themselves.....it was great because Joann entertained Grey while I played beer pong....Grey loved her!

Back to business

while Grey sipped on some root beer and chomped on a chicken leg....love it!

Mims and I lost to the two brothers after some overtime that is...

Here's the hostess and her daughter...

Grey was DONE by this time can't you tell....the tournament was over and it was time to GO home!
