I still remember where I was this very day...I was away at ISU and I was working out early in the morning (go figure) and I saw the second plane crash into the World Trade center and it was like everyone just stopped literally and had no idea what had just happened. It is a day that you will always remember what you were doing at that exact moment.
Well, this week in kindergarten I tried to teach my kids a little about it. However, let's face it...it's kinda hard to teach a five year old about an attack on America. They just can't quite grasp the concept. So instead we just talked about the flag...made a flag...took their pictures with the flag...made sure we have the pledge of allegiance down pat...and basically just discussed how we are so very proud to be Americans...they could understand all of that and they liked it so that worked out good...At least now they know how many stars are on the flag...what they represent...and the colors...they learned somethin' this week-lol!
And of course...since today is 9/11 I decided to dress my favorite little man in his red/white/and blue! It's always kinda fun to be patriotic!
