An Irish Celebration...

Last weekend we joined in on the St. Patrick's Day festivities that were going on around town.  We started our Saturday with a parade.

Sailor was home sleeping so Nate stayed home with her....

after the parade we headed over to Dee Dee's for a little St. Patrick's Day party...we had corned beef and cabbage, carrots, potatoes and of course some fun green desserts;)

I bought this dress a long time ago before I had kids (i found it on ebay).....It was for one of my good friends and when her girls grew out of it she gave it back to me for Sailor....i thought that was really nice...

And Sunday morning we had a surprise visit from 'Lucky' the leprechaun...

 NOT a real puppy....but this one dances and shakes its booty;)

Lucky also left us a trail of green and gold coins and some candy to pick up...

And right now I am starting to freak out because we leave for Hawaii FRIDAY....I can't believe it's already here!!!  I have started to pack and I'm a little overwhelmed but so excited.  I just hope my kids do alright on the LONNNNNGGGGG flight.  Say a prayer for us...Thanks!

Kickin' it St. Patty's Day Style...

Spreading some 'Green' cheer...

Well we were supposed to be spreading some green cheer, but it never happened...

I gave my two littles a bath and got them all ready for the St. Patrick's Day parade.  However, all day I wasn't sure if I 'felt' ok...then at about 3:00 I hit a wall...I had terrible sinus drainage, a headache, sore throat, stiff neck, and my legs had that shaky feeling - I despise being sick...so we all changed back into our pajamas, ordered some food, and I was in bed at 7:00...i was really bummed out...

 the time change might be making sister loopy...

Snow 'Ain't' Stoppin' Round' Here...

So, what do we do?

We get out and enjoy it.  We are snowed in today...sort of......school was cancelled....so we've been able to enjoy 4 days off...

Nate is like a kid in a candy shop on this thing...

We put Grey and Sailor on the sled and tied it to the 4 wheeler...they had a BLAST doing this...

you never know what you're gonna get with these two...

I believe Auntie Mims was the queen and the littles were "imposters"...

There they go...they almost hit a tree...thank goodness the sled stopped just in time.....woops....

Even Murphy went for a ride...

 Sailor was shot until we gave her a rice krispie treat;)

And this was Friday night...right before we went out for some pizza...Sailor had me laughing...she picked these black boots out all on her own...

 I mean c'mon...she wants to wear her boots, grabs her purse and cell phone and then she's good to go...Grey was also my little biker dude and we did not plan this...i promise...

Saturday sledding...

It's my little Saturday 'happy time' right now as I'm typing this...we just got back a little bit ago from sledding, had some hot chocolate, now my babies are asleep, and my hubby went to meet 'the boys' for a little bit...(me likey)

they always make me smile...

i'm telling you i was biting my tongue before we left because and i'm quoting myself - "nate, I have things to do today and this is not at the top of my list".......and then as I was getting my 'snow gear' on we had a really GOOD laugh...you see I don't have snow pants or a good 'snow' coat so i wear Nate's old stuff...needless to say, it's HUGE on me and I don't own snow boots so I wear my 'stylish' boots with black snow pants and a blue coat...well i was sitting on our kitchen floor with everything on and i was zipping up my dressy brown boots and nate just about lost it.....we both started cracking up - this was the scene - Grey was throwing a tantrum because he doesn't like the way his snow pants feel when he first puts them on (he might have some issues with some things;) and Sailie was just exhausted and in need of a nap, Nate was just about ready to put everyone to bed, and then there was me zipping up these fancy boots with my snowpants...(nate was laughing so hard and continued to say - "grey is worried about his pants when all he has to do is look at you" - haha)

 Once we arrived at our destination Grey was having a good ol' time and Sailor held up for a little bit...

 I was a sleddin' mama today...

She threw a minor meltdown after every slide down the hill...so nate would just put her on the sled and pull her up - haha!

And when the snow is slippery and you don't have the 'proper' boots on it's hard to walk so I just sat there...my bum was a little cold but i didn't know what else to do;)  After I went sledding down the hill you should have seen me trying to get up...

 when i'm with my kids i get another chance to be a big kid all over again...win/win situation...

Even though i had a gazillion things to do today...i'm so glad i took the time and went and did this with my family...see what I mean - they make me a better person...and for that - I'm grateful...

 I better go because here comes crabby sister up the hill again...;)
