Zoo Day

On Sunday, we decided to take Grey to the zoo.....the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington.  It was really really nice.  Nate thought we would only see like "3" animals, but it was actually PERFECT for Grey.  He was up really early on Sunday morning so this was him on the way to the zoo.....lol!

When we got there there were only maybe 4 cars in the lot and that was awesome because it wasn't crowded at all and it was really HOT

Grey had just woken up and he was ready to go....he still has those sleepy eyes....

Nate kept flaring his nostrils and I told him to stop -hah!  He said he needed air up there...lol!

These were the river otters

Grey was performing a bit.

The sea lion was Grey's favorite and it was really performing for us....He kept wanting to go back to see it

Then it was into the rainforest exhibit

He was looking at all the birds.

We were able to get pretty close to the birds so that was pretty cool

This was the best I could do with the tiger.....It was really hot and they were all just hiding out and laying around

These were the reindeers behind Grey there....see?

Did I mention it was HOT?  Yeah so after we had had enough at the zoo we walked right over to the splash pad in the park.  It was such a nice park!  Did I mention how perfect it was for Grey!

As soon as we got there he darted right in there....

Then mommy joined in on the fun.

Peace

And of course our adventure would not have been complete without the slide and swings.

Then it was time for lunch.......Auntie Mims and her boy Kevin had been partying at ISU the night before so we headed into college town to pick them up and go to lunch.

And guess where we went ISU people?  The Pub II!  We used to go there once in a while back in the day.   Remember girls?

It was a nice family day!  I would recommend Miller Park too!

Soccer

On Saturday's the Livster has soccer practice.  So on Saturday, Nate was in a golf outing so I had to entertain a toddler all by myself and sometimes that can make for a long day.  So, we thought we'd watch Livy play soccer.....According to Livy, she's the red and black team...lol!  Grey was pretty good and at first I had to keep him from running out on the field by all the other kids.  But, I took him to the play area and he was fine!  Someday soon you will be able to play too Grey!

Grammy Joyce and Papa Hank were there too.

She's loaded with ALL the gear a girl could have even a pink soccer ball....

Then after soccer we pulled out the "gator" for a ride......I was laughing because Livy put a sign on the back of her John Deere - "bubbles - $3" or something like that....and she filled the back of her gator with bubbles.  She was hoping someone would want to buy them but she hasn't had much luck yet...lol!

Enjoying a mid-morning cereal bar.

A nice Saturday mornin' it was.

Then it was break time for Grey and I so we headed for home for lunch and a nap.  After lunch we headed to Target!  I figured...well Nate's in a golf outing all day so I will do a little shopping-right!:)))  Then after Target, Nate got home and we headed to the park for a picnic and some play time.

Nate showed Grey that he could climb a tree - don't know if that was good or bad.

Don't know who had more fun -Nate or Grey?

This was Grey while Nate climbed that tree

Oh and this was my buy at Target - $3 for this ring....love the clearance jewelry aisle.....:)

and of course playing with sticks because he knows he's NOT supposed to

We stayed at the park for a while on Saturday evening....it was so nice in the shade and the breeze felt so good.  But, then it was home for tubby time, book time, and bed time.......
