We had a busy busy weekend. For starters, Uncle Just and Ellory were home to visit so we started our Friday night out to eat with the Ernats. We hit up a seafood buffet that was pretty good. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics to show for it. Saturday night Nate and I headed to a surprise 30th birthday party for our good friends while Grey went with Dee Dee, Papa Davey, Uncle Just, Ellory, and Auntie Mims to Bianchis for some pizza. He was well entertained because he didn't go to bed until almost 10:00!!!
And Sunday brought some more goodness with some warm weather which I was not expecting. It started with church for Grey and I, while Nate had to head to sidetracks to bartend for the day. After Grey's nap we headed outside for the fresh air and the WIND. We could have done without the wind, but will take the warmer weather.
Can you say sidewalk chalk? I don't know who was more excited. Grey or myself. We have been waiting to use this stuff...
And after only a few scribbles he was done...figures...
I tried to write his name and draw a cool picture but he wasn't having it...
So I just sat not so comfortably actually...7 months pregnant kind of throws you off when it comes to sitting down on concrete but whatev...He was fun to watch and take pics.
Up close and personal while examining his chalk colors.
and soon he was asking me for the rake...
and I caught him dancing around a few times...;)
It was so windy, can you tell by Grey's hair here?
and soon after the rake was pulled out, daddy pulled up and Grey wanted to play in the back of the truck...
He rocked his orange shirt and tie in all this warm/windy weather...
And then amongst all this goodness it got a little hairy. Sunday evening we headed to the Riva house because it was Uncle Alex's birthday and it was time to celebrate. Well we were playing around and Grey and I were by the window. Somehow, his leg got wrapped in the blind strings and he fell over right onto a basket and hit his eye. I knew he was hurt immediately and as soon as I looked at him I saw all this blood around his eye. Needless to say I panicked because I thought it was his eyeball. Thank goodness it was NOT but he really has a shiner. I felt terrible.
Sorry if this is too graffic...
By the time it was "cake time" he seemed okay but I was still pretty shaken up...
Giving kisses to Uncle Alex although you can't tell....
Some family pics...
Grey made an extra special wish for Uncle Alex...or maybe he just wanted to blow out a candle...lol!
Grey woke up this morning with an almost swollen shut eye and i could have cried when i saw him. It already looks better from this morning. I just want the puffiness to go away. Poor little guy. I just keep telling myself it could have been a lot worse.
Ouch! That's quite a shiner!
